Writing songs is a challenge. Writing songs is also an adventure since I never know what will come out before I start writing, a poem or a song? Ever since a teenager I’ve been writing poems which I showed to noone and I got my first vinyl album when I was six. It was a Beatles record, wow. When I was six I also started learning English, and never quite stopped, considering how rich and resourceful this language is. Singing the Beatles songs in English was very helpful in the process. When already an adult I emigrated to the U.K. for a few years, staying in a very arty environment which helped me to speak and write in English at ease.
All these experiences have accumulated for me to combine our slavonic sensitivity with fluent English in order to write songs happy or sad, ironic and angry, but always original. It gives me immense satisfaction and when it comes to lyrics it is always Moloko as my point of reference. I write nearly every day and I am getting better and better in saying much without using too many words.
